Caspar is currently available to the right home—but what does that really mean? He’s a high-energy, but very loving boy, ready to be your partner in crime for anything you want to do! Caspar loves the outdoors whether it's hiking, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, or just exploring the world together, Caspar is always up for it. He has excellent recall, is off-leash trained, and loves being right there with his people no matter the activity.
At home, Caspar is happy snuggling on the couch for nightly belly rubs. He’s affectionate, sweet, and adores spending time with his humans. He’s also incredibly smart, eager to learn, and very trainable with a medium toy and food drive.
Caspar could thrive in a variety of homes—whether you’re looking for an active pet, a sport prospect, or a show dog (just one of these, not all!). He doesn’t need to be in a competitive home, but he absolutely could excel in one. He already has a great start in the show ring: he was Reserve Winners Dog at the FLCA National Specialty with a novice handler and currently holds 8 of the 15 points needed for his Championship title, with both majors completed. He’s an eye-catching, push-button show dog and could be a great fit for juniors or an owner-handler. Finishing his Championship is a must (by you, me, or Alexis), but beyond that, there’s no pressure to continue showing.
Caspar is very environmentally stable and does great in public spaces—he’s the kind of dog who can relax on an outdoor patio while you grab a bite to eat. Around cats, he can get excited and will try to engage in play. While he hasn’t shown inappropriate behavior, he does have a medium prey drive, so a home without small animals (or with clear management) is recommended.
The one area Caspar still needs consistent support with is crate behavior. He can be vocal—whining and barking at times—and while we’ve made significant progress, his next home will need to be committed to continuing that training.
A Few Important Requirements:
• Caspar must remain intact as he’s part of our breeding program.
• He’ll need to complete health testing at age 2 (this November). Costs are covered by us, but travel to a reproductive vet will be necessary.
• If you're local to Sacramento or Memphis, we’ll coordinate for breeding when needed (1–2 times a year max). If you’re not local, you must be willing to coordinate visits to a repro vet for breeding needs.
• His Championship title must be finished. If it isn’t completed before he goes to his new home, he’ll need to come stay with me or Alexis for a few weekends to wrap it up.
All puppies going to pet homes will be sold on AKC Limited Registration and will be co-owned with Elevare Finnish Lapphunds until proof of spay/neuter has been received at which time we will sign off of the registration. Puppies going to show homes will be sold with AKC Full Registration and in most cases will be sold on co-ownership contracts until the dog is altered.
Our puppies start at $3500 and may be more expensive depending on the costs associated with the litter. I do not take deposits. Puppies must be paid for in full prior to leaving. Occasionally co-owned puppies will be available for a reduced price to stay in the gene pool.
All puppies sold on limited registration may not be altered before 18 months old and must be altered before 3 years old. We support alternatives to traditional spay and neuter such as an Ovary Sparing Spay or Vasectomy. Our health guarantee will be void if altered before 18 months old.
All puppies will receive their microchip before they leave. It is require that I stay an owner on their microchip for the duration the dog’s life as a safety net for the dog.
We do not ship puppies in cargo. All puppies must be picked up in person. We do support the use of flight nannies if needed. Pick up will be available somewhere between 8-10 weeks of age depending on the litter.
All dogs MUST be returned to us in the event that you can no longer or do not want to care for them any longer. Regardless of reason we will issue a full refund for the return of our dogs.
We raise our litters inside our home using Puppy Culture practices. This allows us to expose our litters to experiences at the right age for their development. Puppies will go home having experienced a vast array of stimuli and experiences. We begin potty training and crate training from a young age to help ease the go home transition.
My goal is to make a match made in heaven between our puppies and their people. We do not have a first come first served waitlist. From the day our puppies are born we will take careful notes about their temperaments. At 7 weeks old we bring in an independent evaluator to asses each puppy’s temperament. This is an important piece of matching puppies, but it is also a snapshot in time. We will use our notes along with the results from the Volhard test and structural evaluation to help us select the perfect puppy for you.
